Biography
was born in 1923, grew up in Berlin and finished school there (A-level). At the end of war 1945, she worked as a nurse, cemetery gardener and dishwasher. After her training as a physiotherapist, she moved to South Africa in 1949. »...Ten years in South Africa and then ten years in India.« So the Basler Newspaper presented Anne Vorwerck at the time she was honored with the Basler Literatur-Werkjahr for her huge novel »Eigentlich wollte Kunigunde das Abendland retten« (engl. »Actually Kunigunde wanted to save the occident«).
