Ian Hacking
Biography
He was born in Vancouver, Canada in 1936 and deals with the philosophy of language. In certain ways he interpolates between classical nominalism and realism und keeps a position, which he calls »dynamic nominalism« – a philosophical approach, which can bring new panache to the process-related understanding of many of your personal and social habits.

Ian Hacking's book »Multiple Persönlichkeiten / Zur Geschichte der Seele in der Moderne« was published at Hanser in 1996 and no big hit. Here Ian Hacking, professor of philosophy at the University of Toronto, outlines on barely 20 pages the central ideas of his philosophizing in a stringency, which should come out a rarity in the world of contemporary philosophy.
