Hans Haverkampf
Hans-Erhard Haverkampf is an economist. Since 1975 he was membor of the Frankfurter municipality and functioned till 1989 as Department Head of Building. Afterwards freelance work. Since 1997 he guided the rebuilding of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin and two building of the Bundestag. 2003 till 2005 director of the Endowment Memorial for the murderd Jews in Europe. Work in different cultural fields. Diverse publications, „Meercazzing“ was his first volume of literary stories.

The probably most difficult of the literary genres has been mastered multiple times – the former Frankfurt department head of building has carved six novellas out of an overboarding pool of historical nearly cathastrophes and lives wrong goings.
Keywords like Jacob Wasserman, Bellman, George might entice one and are reference about the narrating of Haverkampf. The dome of Florence begins to collapse and an intellectual becomes a courageous livesaver under the churche’s dome. The traumatic experience of a slaughter, which a seven-year old sees through the forbidden cellar window, nearly changes into the perspective of a pig, that almost escapes from a deadly shot. A story line from the (german) war of liberation turns into a family tragedy. A rose growing burns down, because a gardenining operational successesion plan does not work out. Noone but Sigmund Freud is called to be the assessor to a vienna lawsuit of incapacitation. A fairytale puts herself over in reality and finishes the career of a young poet.
The scar of the borderstories wafts gently between opposite worlds, which Hans Haverkampf – however removed those worlds are to us historical or through their environment or in their obsessions maye be – lights them out with passion at the psychologic detail. The higth of his mood and the denseness of his plot strand create a narrative pull, that compares to the masters of the novella writers. How Haverkampf lets the the subtility of the different narrations, that expulse one another affect one another. How he underlines their most archaic differntiation and destructions attempts is closer to the contamporary state of things than the great modernist could ever be.
